How are they built?
From a sheet of thermoplastic, like these in the image below, a piece is cut out and immersed in hot water at about 65 degrees.
In 1 minute it softens and is ready to be placed and modeled directly on the patient's hand.
It gives the desired shape or correction that varies according to the pathology and hardens in about 10 seconds.
The excess material is cut out, Velcro straps are put on to be able to open and close them at will and the brace is ready to be combined with the specific therapy with targeted exercises.
